Hello, beautiful ladies! I congratulate you for being here and for making the decision to become a professional in the amazing world of Network Marketing. I’m overjoyed to have you join me in this chapter and to share this special moment in your life with you! It fills me with happiness to be part of this grand project called Leading Ladies, where I’ll provide you with tools to build your dream life and achieve all of your biggest dreams.
My name is Johanna Gil-Bala, but most people who know me call me Mamasita, or Mrs. Bala-Bala: The Queen of Impact! My passion is to help women who are searching for something: the mothers who are going through difficulties and want to feel valuable by providing for their children and themselves, or the woman who isn’t yet able to spend more time with her children because she works outside the home. And what makes me qualified to do so, you might be wondering? Well, I used to be that woman! And to all of you who resonate with the woman I just described, I want to tell you that I’m here for you, and I can help.
I’ve been in this profession for about twenty-eight years, and I have a global business in more than seventeen different countries, in different languages, and in different cultures. I achieved all of this after arriving in the United States as an immigrant and being declared destitute after a few months. I had no home, no country, no family to support me, and I experienced worsening physical health every day. On top of that, I had three children that I struggled to care for.
One day, someone was kind enough to give me $100, and with those meager finances sustaining me and my kids, I began to develop what I call my “superpowers,” which refer to the ten forces I access every day to propel my life forward. In this chapter, I’m going to share these superpowers with you, in hopes that you will turn your life into something incredible through the power of daily habit, just like I did.
My passion for Network Marketing extends to the women who can change their own lives and the world through this profession, so I’m determined to inspire, influence, and impact your life, helping you reach your potential and see your life and dreams transformed. So, are you ready to dive in?
I define faith as believing in something greater than ourselves—certainty in what we hope for and conviction in what we cannot see. To me, this is my trust in God, the one I know is my Creator. That’s why I start each day with a moment of reflection, prayer, and meditation, connecting with God.
After all, if I prioritize making appointments with doctors, lawyers, friends, families, and partners, why shouldn’t I start by making a daily appointment with God? This is the core of my relationship with Him. In God’s presence, extraordinary things happen that don’t occur anywhere else. I bring all my fears, doubts, tears, joys, and greatest achievements to Him before I do anything else.
I cherish this time with Him, and I cherish our relationship. Additionally, I keep a gratitude journal and practice gratitude on a daily basis. Gratitude is the seed that makes many things possible—it truly is the seed of joy. Grateful people are happier, more satisfied, and are more appreciative of everyday-situations, like breathing, walking, eating, or simply waking up alive!
A grateful woman gives thanks for their friendships, family, communities, and much more, including all the things she loves about herself. She experiences more hope, optimism, and above all, self-esteem, which promotes introspection and self-knowledge, improving our learning capacity and ability to make intelligent decisions. So, start the morning with faith and gratitude to set the tone for your entire day!
Our beliefs shape our reality; they’re the lens through which we view the world. The mind is powerful, and it responds to whatever you say to it. That’s why words are so important! I make it a point never to say anything I don’t want to manifest in my life.
Every day, I use at least five to ten positive affirmations to reinforce my empowered beliefs about myself and my potential. I write them down, read them, and listen to them recorded multiple times throughout the day. For example, I affirm that I am the creator of my future. I affirm that I finish what I start. And I affirm that I have the ability to make money.
In fact, I’ve crafted my unique personal affirmation statement that I read and listen to daily, and it goes like this:
My name is Johanna Gil-Bala. I listen to the voice of God within me. I am a guide and a leader, not a follower. Today, I will create, not destroy. I am a force for good. I set new standards. I challenge the possibilities. I am the head, not the tail. I am above, not below. I am one who lends, not one who borrows.
I am loved by God. I am blessed by God. I am chosen by God. I am elected by God. I am protected by God. No weapon formed against me shall prosper. Every tongue that speaks judgment against me shall be condemned.
Everything I touch turns to gold. I have the variability and the ability to create wealth. It is my season. It is my turn. I am healthy. I am rich. I am humble. I am strong. I am a champion. I will win.
I will never be broke for another day in my life because I am committed to a grand vision, bigger than myself, where nothing and no one can stand in my way. My goal is to liberate many women from their physical, mental, spiritual, emotional, or financial prisons. That’s why I am filled with happiness and gratitude today.
As my entire organization ascends to the next level, with all my partners and friends becoming leaders and my organization becoming autonomous, I know I have the mental capacity to achieve everything I set out to do.
Therefore, I demand persistence, determination, and continuous action from myself to achieve my goal. And here and now, I promise to execute that action.
So be it, so be it.
I invite you to craft your own affirmation statement like this one. Then, watch as reciting it daily not only strengthens your beliefs about yourself and what you can do but also manifests a new reality.
Dreams are the burning desires for a material thing or an experience that, by offering us visions of what we want, shape our future. They motivate us to take action and see the possibilities of our future achievements and circumstances. Remember, you won’t leave your current state until you decide where you prefer to be! Your dream is shaped by three choices:
I work on my dream every day, as it’s easy to get absorbed by the world and fall back into old patterns. I also make sure that I have visual representations of my dream everywhere I look. For example, I have dream boards on the walls, I keep my dreams on my phone for quick access, and I place photos and statements related to my dream around my house—even in my bathroom!
I recommend writing down five to ten of your dreams in a journal every day, reading them aloud, and visualizing them. Imagine the sensation of achieving your dream. Visualization aligns your mind with your desired reality and helps you manifest it. It’s essential to have visible reminders of your dreams, but remember that connecting them with emotion and action is key to propelling you toward achieving them.
Your mindset lays the foundation for your perspective. Treat your thoughts like a garden that needs constant nurturing and care—the soil is your mindset, and it determines the quality of the plants and flowers that grow! So, cultivating a growth mindset allows you to embrace life’s challenges, learn from experiences, and overcome obstacles. Not only that, but your mindset directs your mental programming; in other words, the thoughts and beliefs that shape your behavior and outcomes.
Investing in the development of a growth mindset will lead to healthy habits and new skills! I read and listen to personal growth and mindset content for 30 minutes daily, and I take notes. Afterward, I use these notes to reinforce what I learn and also to train my team or share on social media.
And, as I found out early on, it’s easier to combine mindset development with routines I’ve already created. For instance, I learn while bathing, which I now consider a time for cleansing and a time for inspiration and motivation! Dressing and makeup are also intentional and related to my profession, keeping me motivated and relevant. In fact, I refer to my bathroom as my ‘success university.’ You can choose the best time for you and combine established habits with new ones you want to develop—called stacking habits—in order to get the most out of your time every day.
Discipline is the ability to stay committed to your goals and take consistent action, even if you don’t feel like doing it. It’s about setting habits and prioritizing repetition so that taking these actions will eventually get much easier. Remember, your commitment to your goal is just as important as the goal itself! Discipline is what makes commitment stick.
In our profession, there are two main tasks: acquiring new associates and training them, and bringing in new partners while providing excellent customer service. For me, maintaining a daily agenda is crucial. I list all my personal and professional tasks, treating my business as if I were my own strictest boss! I prioritize my tasks and have pre-established time blocks with alarms to keep me focused and eliminate distractions. This approach helps me complete my work efficiently.
Discipline means focusing on priorities, and nothing else. One piece of advice I received is to dedicate myself to my profession with discipline for six months in order to then see most of my problems disappear. I also give myself a 90-day challenge at least once a year to maintain discipline and set an example for others. This is essential not only for personal growth but also for leading by example in my business.
Persistence is the strength, energy, and determination to overcome obstacles and setbacks. It’s what drives us, fortifies us, and enables us to achieve our goals—despite the challenges that arise—on the path to success. The key is to keep going, even when things get tough. This is where the law of eventuality comes into play, which states that consistent effort will eventually yield results. If you’re not willing to commit to persistence and consistency, then you’re choosing to accept disappointment and regret!
Persistence means doing what you must because you’ve decided to, regardless of whether you feel like it or not. For me, it’s so important to develop a never-give-up attitude. I focus on my dreams and the life I’ll have when I achieve them, working on overcoming my fears and doubts. This mindset helps me develop frustration tolerance.
To bolster my persistence, I’ve built an emotional support system because, as the saying goes, ‘if you want to go fast, go alone; if you want to go far, go together.’ The world’s great achievers have support teams like personal trainers, coaches, and mentors to keep them motivated and persistent.
In my experience, surrounding myself with people who have achieved what I aspire to achieve is essential! Investing in a mentor or coach is part of my commitment to professional growth. Based on my goals, I have different individuals guiding me toward success. In our organization, we believe that finishing what you start is more important than starting. So, finish what you start, persist, involve others, and realize your dream!
The quality of your preparation for any endeavor directly impacts your performance and results! Skill development is the process of improving your abilities to perform better and achieve desired outcomes over time. Skills are the tools that enable us to reach our goals and build our lives and businesses, and they can be developed with time and effort.
This applies to absolutely everyone: success is attainable for anyone who commits to learning. All skills can be learned, and they foster the development of personal aptitudes essential for business growth. As Malcolm Gladwell tells us, mastery is not innate; it’s created through practice and execution, requiring about 10,000 hours of guided practice to achieve.
Invest in your future by learning from those who have the knowledge you seek. True success comes from learning from those who are more experienced and applying that knowledge effectively. My daily mantra is to learn something new and teach something new. I choose skills that benefit my business and dedicate time each day to learning and mastering them.
For example, I aimed to become proficient in social media, so I took various classes to develop the necessary skills. While I continue to learn, I can confidently say that I know what I’m doing and can teach it to others. Studying and mastering the skills of this profession will propel you to the top and help you achieve your desired results!
Transformation is not just about change; it’s about evolving into our best selves. It involves altering our beliefs, perspectives, and behaviors for a more authentic and meaningful life. This transformation can be driven by various factors, such as the pursuit of a greater purpose or the desire to grow as a person. In our profession, where the focus is on people, embracing transformation is crucial!
Every day, I ask myself if I’m being the best version of myself and what I can do to transform into the leader I aspire to be for my global business. I analyze my beliefs and values to identify what motivates me and what holds me back, and I work on changing these to become a leader who inspires transformation in others. Setting clear goals and action plans is essential for progressing in this transformative journey.
This is not something that can be rushed, though. Transformation is a long-term process that requires patience and compassion toward oneself and others. It’s about tuning into love to manifest our dreams more easily. Witnessing someone transform their life and become their best version, reaching heights they never imagined, brings me immense joy. It’s a reminder that we are all capable of becoming new beings!
Unity is the cornerstone of my life and business, as it embodies the strength derived from collaboration and mutual support. I believe in the intrinsic value each individual brings, and I strive to appreciate and amplify that value. To encourage unity in my community, I implement a system where every client or associate who joins my organization fills out a Google form, providing me with comprehensive information such as their name, personal details, preferences, sizes, favorite colors, and more. This approach allows me to establish deeper connections and cater to their unique needs effectively.
And, as part of my commitment to continuously nurture the unity we’ve cultivated, I make it a daily practice to select five people from my community to connect with. Whether it’s reaching out to say hello, taking a moment to react to their social media, or recognizing and celebrating their birthdays or those of their children, this small gesture not only strengthens our bonds but also cultivates a culture of appreciation and togetherness.
Love is the most potent force that connects us to each other, and it drives us to make beautiful changes. For me, love is everything. True love is more than just a feeling; it’s an action that shows favor towards oneself and others. Love is the essence of God. Love is the action that demonstrates empathy, support, and the desire for the good of others.
In our profession, we have the opportunity to express love in diverse ways, whether by helping, serving, supporting, or helping others achieve their dreams. By taking those actions, we’re already showing love! My mentor and friend, Jesse Lee Ward, always said, “People hate for no reason, so I choose to love for no reason.” I decided many years ago to love people for no reason, hoping my legacy would be that of a woman who served and loved unconditionally.
Every day, I start with self-love, affirming my worth and value in the mirror, and intentionally creating moments to express love, kindness, and generosity to my family, friends, and followers. I view each of my relationships as beautiful flowers in a garden that needs care, and I strive to make people feel better after being with me. Remember: to be unforgettable to others, we must do unforgettable things for them!
So, now that you understand the ten superpowers that I use every day to live my dream life, I hope you can see that the key to success is having clarity in what you want and taking action. It’s not just about what or who you know, but what you do with that knowledge and those relationships. The cemetery is full of unfulfilled dreams. Why? It’s not the lack of dreams but the lack of action that holds people back. Remember, “someday” is never guaranteed; “someday” is today!
So, today is your chance to start the business you’ve been called to, send your invitations out into the world, and connect with potential partners. Today is the best day to start living with purpose! You have everything you need, so stop looking for shortcuts and embrace the challenges. Everything you desire is on the other side of a decision, disciplined effort, and determination.
My greatest wish for you is to become the best version of yourself and achieve your dreams! These ten superpowers have transformed my life, and if you follow them, you’ll see a transformation in yours, too. Remember: to achieve something new, you must do something you’ve never done before. I wish you all the beauty in life, and I look forward to meeting you—living your best life, on the beaches of the world!
